1882-CC Morgan Silver Dollar - GSA Pack |
1882-CC Morgan Silver Dollar - GSA Pack. A choice uncirculated 1882-Carson City Morgan Silver Dollar. This historic coin is a valuable memento of an era in American history when pioneers were challenging the West. The silver in this dollar was mined from the rich Comstock Lode, discovered in the mountains around Virginia City, near Carson City, Nevada. Perhaps Mark Twain mined for some of the silver in this coin. The Carson City Mint was established there in 1870, producing some of the most sought-after coins in collectordom. This coin is in choice uncirculated condition with nice lustre on both sides, 100% white, encased in the GSA package, with correct certificate of authenticity and outer cardboard box, all as sold by the government back in the old days. (note: upper and lower border of sealed, plastic case (front only) has been colored with black marker; see photo enlargment. Click to enlarge upper image to see photo of case & pkg. Therefore, we have discounted price $10.00) |
